Transform Old Patterns, Transform Your Life

Transform Old Patterns, Transform Your Life

We are right around the corner from the equinox. Alaska is in full fall mode: golden leaves, vibrant blue skies, jeweled berries, and whimsical red mushrooms. I am so in love with the glorious energy of this season!

This was not always the case. Fall used to mean the beginning of an epic battle with three months worth of holiday temptations: Halloween candy, Thanksgiving pies and Christmas cookies

A Year of Keto and a Return to Primal

A Year of Keto and a Return to Primal

This week I would like to share my experience with the ketogenic diet. I am sharing because keto is all the rage today, and in some ways, rightfully so. It can be a very powerful nutrition plan for treating epilepsy, Alzheimer's, some forms of cancer, and for losing weight.

A New Year, A New You

A New Year, A New You

Happy New Year, friends! Tom and I have just returned from a beautiful trip to Mexico, filled with sun, seafood, sand, nature, guacamole, and a bit of tequila. We had a fabulous time, staying fairly true to our primal roots, with a glorious exception here and there. The exceptions were fun (warm homemade corn tortillas with fried shrimp and queso fresco!) but now we are ready to get back on track.

Holiday Treats and Gentle Questioning

Holiday Treats and Gentle Questioning

Anyone feeling a twinge of holiday anxiety? I am!

Last week I recommended taking on the role of an observer, to pay attention to behavioral patterns and automatic responses regarding holiday treats.

I try to practice what I preach. As a result I've noticed a steady increase in my anxiety levels and a corresponding desire to create and indulge in paleo/keto treats.
