Fiddleheads Five Ways: Part 3

(If you are new to the fun of fiddlehead foraging, feel free to check out my earlier posts in this series: Foraging for Fiddleheads and Fiddleheads Five Ways: Part 1.)

Not only are fiddleheads beautiful and tasty, they are also a nutrition powerhouse! According to LiveStrong.com , fiddleheads are a fine source of Vitamin A, Vitamin, C, niacin, riboflavin, phosphorous and iron.

I decided to try something new with fiddleheads this year: a smoothie with wild Alaskan blueberries (from fall's freezer stash). A little concerned that the end result might not be exceptionally tasty, I was delighted when the smoothie was lovely. (Note: I prefer my smoothies unsweetened, but if you differ you might want to add a bit of sweetener, like local honey.)
