Lately I've been hearing from many women who are struggling to find a diet plan that "works". I get it. I have so been there.
For many years, unconsciously, I was at war with my body. I fought with my body in an attempt to control my weight, the way my clothes fit, the way I looked in a bathing suit. I said such mean things to my body when I looked in the mirror! Obviously, treating my body in this way left no room for love. I assumed love would come when I reached my desired weight/size/physique.
Thankfully, after decades of trying different things, I found a lifestyle that allowed me to release my restrictive eating and exercising patterns. When I stopped restricting my life slipped into a glorious flow. It was in that space of flow that I made the realization that my body was amazing, exactly as it is. I wanted to take care of it, nurture it, love it. I joyfully fed it healthy, beautiful food. I enjoyed moving it in a way that felt good and made me strong.
I stopped fighting with my body and started taking care of it with love. I made peace with how I look right now. What an honor it is to have this beautiful body to nurture. How exciting it is to have the freedom to make choices that make me feel amazing!
So, gorgeous friends, can you resist that urge to engage in battle with your body? Can you sign a peace treaty with your body? Can you treat your body with love and compassion and forgive yourself if you slip into old patterns?
I would love to hear from you in the comments below!
